EVAW Project History: |
|
The EVAW Project is a successful training and technical assistance STOP VAWA funded initiative in Colorado. A collaboration between the Colorado District Attorneys Council, the County Sheriffs of Colorado, the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault and the Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the project includes two employees and approximately 25 expert trainers from across the state. Together, we provide excellent training and technical assistance to Colorado communities. EVAW Project has conducted trainings in each of the 22 Judicial Districts in Colorado, and in many places across the country.
The project has also established and worked with coordinated community councils in Colorado, has established regional “train the trainer” teams in four different regions around the state, and has provided a multitude of technical assistance to hundreds of people and agencies.
Collaboration is the cornerstone of success for the EVAW Project. The joint efforts by CDAC, CSOC, CCASA, and CCADV have infused the project with credibility, and have modeled the importance of a coordinated response to violence against women.
